SEALIFEWIKI BUYING GUIDE
How to compare snorkeling fins and fin accessories
Compare fin sizing, intended use, open-heel designs and fin keepers before ordering.
By SeaLifeWiki · Updated September 19, 2026
Confirm sizing before choosing a variant
The Palantic open-heel rubber fins are offered in S, M and L, but the supplier has not provided a shoe-size conversion chart for these variants. Do not guess a shoe-size equivalent. Confirm sizing and intended footwear with the seller before ordering.
Compare intended use and weight
The other fin listing is a one-size-large snorkeling and fishing model associated with belly boating. That is a different product description from a general travel fin. The Palantic listing gives approximately 2.5 lb per fin in size M; size and weight matter when comparing luggage space and the kit you intend to carry.
Fin keepers are accessories
Rubber fin keepers are sold as a pair in Small, Medium and Large. They are intended to help secure compatible fins, but they are not fins and do not correct a poor size choice. Check compatibility and the supplier's fitting instructions.
What this comparison cannot establish
We have not measured thrust, fatigue, comfort or durability in a controlled test. Those differences cannot be inferred reliably from a product title or a photograph. Use the specifications to narrow your choices and resolve missing sizing information before purchase.
