How to choose a snorkel or snorkeling set

Read the actual design description
The current range includes low-volume flexible snorkels and sets labeled semi-dry or dry-top. These names describe features in a product listing, not a guarantee that water cannot enter. Read the manufacturer's operating and clearing instructions for the model you choose. Product names alone are not a substitute for learning to use the equipment.
Compare what comes in the box
A standalone flexible snorkel does not include a mask. The yellow-mirror set lists an adult mask and semi-dry snorkel; the junior prescription set includes a dry-top snorkel. Compare the mask's fit and lens options as carefully as the snorkel specification.
Avoid choosing by an activity label alone
A title containing freediving or spearfishing does not establish suitability for your face, experience or planned conditions. Consider the mouthpiece information, attachment method, flexibility and available care instructions. Ask for missing compatibility information before ordering.
Build a kit you understand
Choose the components you need, check the supplier's care instructions and inspect their condition before use. Snorkels do not provide a supply of air underwater. Learning equipment use and assessing conditions are separate from buying a product.
